J Ketley Construction Ltd carries out blockwork for new walls, extensions, garages, retaining structures and complete building shells. We work with dense concrete blocks, lightweight blocks and other specified products to suit structural, thermal and acoustic requirements.

Good masonry depends on more than simply laying blocks. Line, level, bonding, mortar consistency, wall ties, insulation placement and openings all need careful attention to ensure the finished structure performs as designed.

Our blockwork can be coordinated with facing brickwork, structural steel, lintels, floor systems and roofing stages. This joined-up approach helps maintain accurate dimensions and gives following trades a clean, well-prepared structure to work from.

Building accurate and dependable blockwork

We review wall thicknesses, block specifications, openings, structural details and required finished levels before masonry starts. Lines, corners and openings are set out accurately so the walls coordinate with floor systems, steelwork, lintels and the external finish.

As the work progresses, bonding, mortar joints, wall ties, insulation and damp-proof details are installed in the correct sequence. Regular checks for line, level and plumb help ensure following trades receive a straight and properly dimensioned structure.

Structural, thermal and practical requirements

Different parts of a building may require dense blocks, lightweight thermal blocks or specialist products. We follow the project specification and coordinate junctions, cavities and penetrations so the wall performs as intended rather than simply looking complete.
